Next: Seattle Car Parking »

Seattle - Car Parking

The airport drives are for passenger drop off and pick up only. Parking on the drives is not allowed. Traffic is growing at Sea-Tac and can come to a dead stop when a car blocks the drive. Unattended cars are also a serious safety hazard. If you need to go inside the airport, even for a short time, use Hourly Parking.

If you leave your car on either the upper (ticketing level) or lower (baggage claim level) drive, your vehicle will be towed. The towing fee is $150 with an additional $20 parking ticket. Even if you rescue your vehicle from the tow truck's clutches before it drives away, you will be charged the full $150 fee and given a $20 parking ticket.

Passport Parking - Guaranteed Convenient Parking Spaces Waiting for You:

The Passport Parking Program offers a fast, efficient, and convenient way in and out of the airport for individuals and companies with employees who travel frequently. Passport holders receive transferable access cards that provide unlimited access to an exclusive gated area on the third floor of the airport garage - this guarantees finding a parking space quickly every time.

For answers about Passport Parking or setting up a Passport account, contact us at (206) 248-6887

The Passport Parking Program provides:

Unlimited, transferable parking Designated, guaranteed parking availability Easy monthly billing

Passport Parking is our most popular parking option for frequent business travelers. It’s a fast, efficient way to get in and out of the airport. And, what makes Passport even more economical is its transferability within your company. That means the Passport Parking Card can be used anytime by anyone in the office who needs airport parking, either short or long term.

Passport Parking also is the only airport parking option that provides exclusive access to the gated third floor of the parking garage. Because the entire third floor is designated for Passport Parking, travelers are guaranteed quick parking. The Passport Parking Card ensures secure access to the best spots available, close to all airline ticketing areas.

Valet Parking - The Highest Level in Parking Service:

If you or your employees are seeking the fastest, most convenient way in and out of the garage, consider valet parking. A dedicated road from the ticketing drive takes customers straight to this area.

Valet parking is located on the sky bridge level -- just a short walk across the sky bridge and customers are in the terminal.

Premier Corporate Parking

Premier Parking logo

The Premier Corporate Parking program makes parking hassle-free for the busy corporate traveler. The program is tailored for companies with a large number of overnight business travelers. It features a discounted, all-inclusive price, a personal access card for the airport garage, direct credit card billing and freedom from administrative burdens for the traveler or the company.

If you are interested in qualifying your company for Premier Corporate parking, contact the Premier Corporate office at (206) 439-6652 or premierparking@ portseattle.org.

Every Premier Corporate customer receives a personal access card for the airport garage in their name, and pays for parking with a personal or corporate credit card.

It is easy to use. When entering the garage, just insert the personal access card. There's no ticket to misplace. Upon exit, re-insert the card and view the total charge. Then insert a corporate (or personal) credit card, and get a receipt. That's it!

Expanded Cell Phone Waiting Lot:

Picking up passengers at Sea-Tac Airport? Use the FREE Cell Phone Lot. Just a two-minute drive from Baggage Claim, the new lot is on Air Cargo Road in front of the Delta Air Lines cargo building. There are more than 40 parking spots available. Drivers can wait in the lot until arriving passengers have deplaned, collected luggage and called to be picked up outside of Baggage Claim. Drivers must stay with their vehicles. The Cell Phone Lot not only provides a convenient place for waiting for arriving flights, but also helps keep traffic on the airport drives moving smoothly. There is no parking or waiting allowed on the airport roadway shoulders.

To the Cell Phone Lot:

From the Airport Expressway, take the170th/Air Cargo exit. Turn right and make an immediate left into the Cell Phone Lot.

From the Cell Phone Lot to Baggage Claim (Arrivals Drive):

Take a right out of the Cell Phone Lot and make an immediate left (sign reads to terminal). Follow signs to Arrivals.

Seattle - Handicapped Facilities

Special Access

The airport is fully equipped with special access facilities to provide all travelers -- as well as meeters, greeters and airport employees -- with a safe, convenient means of getting around.

In the Airport

Curbside Services

Curbside check-in is available, but there is no parking or waiting allowed on the airport drives. Vehicles left unattended, even if the driver is nearby, will be ticketed and towed. A good alternative to loading and unloading on the drives is to use the Airport Garage. Short-term parkers can park anywhere in the garage and still pay the hourly rate.

Drinking Fountains

All are lowered for wheelchair access.

Elevators

All elevators in the Main Terminal, Satellites and Parking Garage have Braille and raised numerals inside. Additionally, all elevators have lowered control panels, floor-passing gongs, raised call buttons, Braille on the doorjambs and directional arrows in the elevator lobbies.

U.S. Mailbox

An accessible mailbox is located on the Lower Drive sidewalk outside of Baggage Claim door #16.

Restrooms

To accommodate wheelchair users, most restrooms have larger stalls, grab bars and lower accessories, such as sinks, paper towel dispensers and mirrors.

Large, private restrooms are available to any adults who require assistance as well as parents traveling with small children. You'll find these restrooms on both the Ticketing and Baggage Claim levels of the Main Terminal as well as on Concourses A, B, C, and D, and in the North and South Satellite.

Service Dog Relief Area

A small area has been set up outside the Main Terminal to serve a "pet potty" for traveling animals. Equipped with absorbent sand, plastic bags and a garbage can, it is located outside of Baggage Claim, just north of the terminal, on the left under the outside stairs.

Port Celebrates Completion of Third Runway Embankment

-Project on budget and schedule for a 2008 opening-

Construction of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport's third runway reached a significant milestone on Monday. Port of Seattle Commission President Patricia Davis helped crews place the last load of dirt on the embankment that will support the new all-weather runway.

Davis arrived in one of the nearly 200 trucks that brought dirt to the site over the last three years. On her signal, the driver emptied the truck's final load onto the embankment.

"What a terrific accomplishment," Davis said. "It's hard to visualize that this embankment was built one truckload at a time. That's a lesson for all of us as we take on big challenges in our lives."

The embankment is made up of 17 million cubic yards of high-quality dirt, held in place by one of North America's tallest mechanically stabilized earthen (MSE) retaining walls. The embankment was needed to bring low-lying terrain west of the existing runways up to airfield level.

The next step is for crews to start pouring concrete for the 8500-foot long runway. That's expected to begin next spring.

"We are on budget and on schedule for the first landing in late 2008," Davis said. "We look forward to reducing the kinds of weather-related delays that have long plagued travelers at Sea-Tac."

The third runway is needed because Sea-Tac's existing runways are only 800 feet apart. On cloudy days, arriving aircraft can approach only in a single stream, instead of lining up parallel for both runways. The result is that in 2005 nearly 25% of all flights to Sea-Tac arrived more than 15 minutes behind the published schedule.

The third runway will allow two streams of aircraft to approach Sea-Tac even on cloudy days. Port CEO Mic Dinsmore said the result will be a more efficient operation, with far fewer delays.

"The region has long-awaited this runway," Dinsmore said. "By making air travel more predictable and reliable we position our region for greatly improved economic growth."
